Trifecta 2.0, Georgia MFA Exhibition Exchange, Curated by Ridley Howard, Now Open!
Trifecta 2.0 is the second annual, juried exhibition featuring a selection of current MFA candidates from Georgia Southern University, Statesboro; Georgia State University, Atlanta; and University of Georgia, Athens. The first iteration of Trifecta, curated by Georgia Southern graduate students and hosted by Augusta University, opened in the summer of 2016.
The upcoming Trifecta 2.0 was organized by a group of current MFA and MA students in Studio Art and Art History and was juried by Ridley Howard. The exhibition will be on view at Georgia State University’s Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design Galleries on May 12 through September 22. The opening reception for the exhibition will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on May 12 and the closing reception on September 21, from 5:00 – 8:00pm. Both are open and free to the public.
Ridley Howard was born in 1973 in Atlanta. He received his BA and BFA from the University of Georgia, Athens, and his MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Recently, Howard’s paintings were on view in the Atlanta Biennial at the Atlanta Contemporary and Intimisms at James Cohan Gallery, NY. He is also co-founder of gallery 106 Green in Brooklyn. He will have a solo show with Marinaro Gallery, NY in May 2017.
