Douglass Grimmett is founder of Primal Screen, a digital design firm based in Atlanta, and leads a full-time staff of 30. Started in 1995, Primal Screen creates engaging and strategic content for multiple platforms including film, television, gaming, interactive, mobile, and environmental media.
Grimmett is the creative force behind Primal Screen projects including: redesign of Cartoon Network, launching Boomerang, launching Animania (the world’s first high definition animation network), relaunching Nick Jr., launching Sprout, designing a new on-air look for Spike TV, and rebranding PBS Kids in 2006, 2014 and PBS Kids Go in 2009.
Grimmett is President Emeritus of AIGA Atlanta, an AIGA Fellow, and on the board of directors of MODA (Museum of DesignAtlanta). He currently teaches Graphic Design History at Georgia State University.
