Dr. Howard received both her PhD and MA from The Ohio State University and her BA from Christopher Newport University in Virginia. She specializes in Early Modern Italian art history. Her research interests include portraiture and questions of identity, early modern mnemonic tactics and symbolic devices, science and anatomy, and word and image theory. She has presented her research at national and international conferences. This Fall at GSU, she will be teaching courses on Italian Renaissance art, Northern Renaissance art, and Baroque art.
